My name is Maddy Martin, and I founded Smarty Paws Dog Training through my lifelong love and passion for dogs. Over the years of working with dogs and their owners, I've seen how a lack of communication and understanding between dogs and their owners can affect their relationship, including experiences in my own home. Those experiences inspired me to help owners build stronger, healthier relationships with their dogs through effective training and better communication. My goal is to provide a positive, rewarding, and enjoyable training experience for both you and your four-legged best friend, right here in our community.

Training options designed with you and your dog in mind!

Evaluation
A FREE one hour evaluation in the comfort of your own home! An evaluation allows us to understand your dog's behavior, discuss your goals, and determine the best training approach for your dog.
02.
Day Training
Your dog enjoys six hours of personalized, one-on-one training tailored to their individual needs and goals! Through structured inside and outside sessions, breaks and practice, we'll work on building new skills and better habits. At pickup, we'll go over their progress and how to continue reinforcing their training at home!
03.
Private One-On-One
One hour session which provides personalized training for you and your dog. You'll work alongside us as we teach techniques, practice skills, and build your confidence to continue training at home!
04.
In-Home
One hour session of personalized training in the comfort of your own home! These sessions allow us to work with your dog in the environment where they spend most of their time, making it easier to address everyday behaviors and household challenges. You'll be directly involved throughout the session as we guide you through the excersises and teach you how to effectively communicate with your dog.
05.
Board and Train
This program allows your dog to stay with us over night for a selected number of days while receiving daily, structured training tailored to their individual needs. At pickup we'll review their progress and teach you how to maintain their training at home!
06.
Nail Trims & Baths
We offer nail trims and baths. We help create a positive association while also helping your dog build confidence when it comes to grooming needs!
Obedience and Reactivity Training
Personalized Care
Every dog is unique, so we use a balanced approach with training, which combines positive reinforcement with other training methods as needed. We tailor each training session based on the dog's individual needs. The goal is to build communication, confidence, obedience, and a strong relationship between dogs and their owners while using the right approach.
Real-Time Updates
While your dog is training with us you will recieve photo and video updates so you can follow along, see their progress, and stay connected throughout their training journey. We want you to feel included every step of the way!
Reactivity
Reactivity is NOT aggression, it is when your dog overreacts to a trigger. Through structured training, we work on building confidence, improving impulse control, and teaching your dog how to respond calmy instead of reacting. Our goal is to help your dog feel more comfortable and make better choices in everyday situations.
